Shelton Video Store Holds On As Entertainment Goes Digital

SHELTON, Conn. -- The idea of a video rental store may seem as antiquated as the fax machine or the car phone, but Shelton's Video 7 has managed to keep its doors open when larger national chains like Blockbuster have fallen by the wayside, according to the Shelton Herald.

Bob Achille has owned Video 7 for more than 30 years. His workforce is smaller and the customer base has dwindled thanks to more convenient options like Red Box and NetFlix, but Achille says for some the ability to connect with a person and the nostalgic, "retro" feel his store offers helps maintain a loyal customer base, the Shelton Herald said.

Video 7 is located at 22 Kneen St.
