Shelton Dishes Up Two Days Of Music, Food For 7th Annual Soupstock

SHELTON, Conn. — The Soupstock Music and Arts Festival in Shelton is the annual fundraising event for the Mary A. Schmecker Turtle Shell Fund.

This family-oriented event set for this weekend features many fun-filled sights, sounds and tastes to entertain the whole family.

This year's edition of Soupstock VII — two days of art, food and music, will be held from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 9, and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 10.

All=-inclusive admission is $15 per day for adults and free for kids 12 and under. Admission is at the gate. The event is held at Veterans Memorial Park in Shelton.

The Mary A. Schmecker Turtle Shell Fund is a federally recognized nonprofit that seeks to promote the education of young people in art, music, theater, skilled craft and other creative pursuits.

Your admission includes entry to the Soupstock soup/chili cook-off, where you can taste all day and vote on your favorites to win the coveted Soupstock trophy.

Vendors for the day include Trendyhenna Bead Dangle Design, Lisa’s Soaps, Quark Tees, IconOcandles, Tom’s Roid-Rippin’ Hot Sauce, The Little Dog Laughed, BBA Bracelets, Sacred Mystery Arts, Crissy’s Wellness Essentials, Sunset Studio, Melding Minds, Dancing Hands Jewelry, Stone Street Tye Dye, Skippin’ Stones, The Pulp Girls, Hazel Daze Boutique, The Funky Hippie Draw, The Line Apparel, Arobz ARTofficial KilbrideCreations, Modest Tillie Art, Simplicated Delusional Designs, Andie’s Cookies, BringtheHoopla, OmNomNom Jams and Jellies, Essential Adornment, DoobaDoop, and Poison Candy Artist Collective.

The food court area will include: Jim’s Ice Cream, Spuds, Your Way, BRYAC Restaurant & Raw Bar, Everything About Crepes, BLACK ROCK BBQ, Common Bond Market, GypsyJoe Cafe, Juicy J’s Lemonade and Concessions, The Cupcake Chick and Pierogies on Wheels.

Nonprofit organizations in attenance will include the Fairfield Theatre Company, One Innocent Life, HeadCount.Org, and Opinions 4 Good Launching Point.
