Shelton, Derby Seniors Can Sign Up To Receive Sand & Salt For Melting Ice

SHELTON, Conn. -- The Derby-Shelton Rotary Club will be delivering five-gallon buckets of a sand and salt mixture to seniors and disabled individuals in Derby and Shelton on Dec. 7.

The sand and salt mixture is to spread on driveways and walkways during the winter to help melt snow and ice. The program is open to seniors age 70 or older, as well as disabled individuals. People residing in housing developments that already provide sand are not eligible for the program.

If you are interested in receiving a bucket, sign up at either the Derby or Shelton Senior Center, or contact Kim Ryan at kim@curtissryan.com or (203) 929-1484 ext. 227. The deadline to sign up is Dec. 1.
