Glover's service was from 1941 to 1945 in the Marines and he fought on Okinawa, said the report.

Glover was given the honor by the area VFW post to toss a Memorial Day wreath into the Housatonic River from the Derby-Shelton Bridge, according to Fox 61.

"Every year we try to recognize someone who has been part of the Greatest Generation," Shelton Mayor Mark Lauretti told Fox 61.
