Darien TV Personality 'Mr. Wonder' Sentenced To Prison For Child Sex Crime

DARIEN, Conn. -- Nearly 40 years after vanishing amid allegations he abused children on a camping trip, a former television personality believed to have lived in Darien was sentenced to five years in prison.

Frank John Selas III --  who hosted the "Mr. Wonder" show on KNOE-TV in Louisiana -- pleaded guilty in Louisiana to one count of indecent behavior with a child, Rapides Parish Assistant District Attorney Brian Mosley said in a statement.

Selas could be eligible for parole in July 2018, with credit from the July 2016 arrest, Mosley said.

He fled to Brazil after parents complained her abused their children and upon return, was believed by investigators to have lived in Darien, the New York Post reports.
