SHELTON, Conn. -- Bradley Commerford of Derby, who pleaded guilty on Friday to heroin charges in connection with two nonfatal overdoses in Shelton and a deadly overdose in Derby, had his case on other charges continued until to Aug. 29, after his July 28 sentencing on the heroin charges, according to the Shelton Herald.

Commerford waived his right to indictment and pleaded guilty in New Haven federal court to one count of distribution of heroin to an individual who is under 21 years of age in a case that included two nonfatal heroin overdoses that occurred in Shelton on Feb. 16 and one fatal overdose that occurred in Derby on Feb. 17, according to the Shelton Herald.

In addition to the federal charges, the 20-year-old is also facing charges of violation of his probation for possession with intent to sell in August 2014 and violation of probation for sale of a controlled substance in October 2015, added the Shelton Herald.

He is also facing additional charges stemming from his January 2016 arrest, including possession of half-an-ounce of marijuana, interfering with a police officer and resisting arrest, failure to insure a motor vehicle, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and driving without a license, said the Shelton Herald.
