Detour: Nighttime Milling Begins On Route 108 In Shelton For Repaving

SHELTON, Conn. — A 1.1-mile section of Route 108/Nichols Avenue in Shelton will be under construction for the next few weeks, according to the state Department of Transportation.

A nighttime milling and resurfacing project will begin on Route 108, beginning Thursday, May 25, and running through Thursday, June 8.

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 108 from Bayberry Lane to Ripton Road. Traffic control personnel and signs will be used to guide motorists through the work zone.

The regular work schedule for this project is 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Sundays through Thursdays.

The milling segment of the project will be performed on Thursday, May 25, through Wednesday, May 31. The resurfacing segment will be done on Tuesday, June 6, through Thursday, June 8.

No work will occur during the Memorial Day weekend. Work will resume on Tuesday night, May 30.

The schedule may be extended or delayed due to weather or other unforeseen conditions.
