SHELTON, Conn. -- A fundraising drive has been set up to help pay for the education of the 15-month-old daughter of a Shelton woman who was killed in a car crash.

Leigh Antoinette Sabo, 24, died Oct. 15 after a head-on crash on Bridgeport Avenue last week. In the car with Sabo was her daughter, Aubree Rose Sabo, who was not seriously injured in the crash, ctpost.com said.

Sabo’s sister, Rebecca, has set up a GoFundMe page has been set up for donations for Aubree Rose.

“As most of you know , my beautiful sister Leigh Sabo passed away this past Thursday due to a terrible car accident ... Many people have been asking us what they can do to help ... Most of all , we ask for prayers for her daughter Aubree," says a post on the Go Fund Me page. "If you would like to donate for Aubree's future education (she will be attending Saint Catherine of Sienna school in Trumbull because that's what Leigh wanted ) anything would be appreciated. We would like to thank you all for your support in this very tough time.”

In an update, the page also posted this thank you message.

"I just wanted to tell you all how much we appreciate every one of your kindness," it said. "Aubree will always know how much she is loved."

A total of $2,565 of the $10,000 goal has been raised in just three days.

Sabo was born in Bridgeport and was previously employed by Stop & Shop in Monroe.
