SHELTON, Conn. — The annual Independence Day fireworks set for Friday, July 1, will be delayed due to the stormy weather forecast.
Rain and thunderstorm are possible Friday afternoon and into the evening, which would dampen the festivities.
Instead, the fireworks are moved to Sunday, July 3, at the Riverwalk. The should should begin at about 9 p.m.
In Stratford, the fireworks are still on for Friday night at Short Beach. A decision will be made at 11 a.m. Friday on whether to postpone or proceed with the show. The rain date there is Saturday, July 2.
