Shelton Man Wins $50K Top Prize In 'Lucky Links' Lottery

SHELTON, Conn. -- David Victoria of Shelton told Lottery officials that he was “pretty ecstatic” when he won $41.50 playing his favorite “Play3” numbers.

That moment of jubilation, however, was easily eclipsed when he then scanned his “Lucky Links with 2XPOWER” draw ticket in the ticket checker and realized he had won the game’s $50,000 top prize.

“I scanned my (Lucky Links) ticket and saw $50,000 and thought, ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe it!,” Victoria said.

Victoria purchased his ticket at Monroe Food Mart, located at 487 Monroe Turnpike in Monroe.

The store will receive a $500 bonus check from the CT Lottery for selling the winning ticket.

The winning "Lucky Links" night numbers drawn on Nov. 1 were 5, 8, 10, 11, 19, 20, 21, 22.

The $50,000 top prize has been won six times since the new game began in April.

Victoria said he knew immediately how he would spend his winnings.

“We’ve got three kids in college right now, so this is going straight toward paying tuition,” he said.
