SHELTON, Conn. – Jane M. Gaynor of Shelton died Tuesday, March 29. She was 86.
She was the wife of the late Dr. William P. Gaynor. She was born in Derby on Dec. 28, 1929, daughter of the late John and Teresa (Hill) McGrath, and was a lifelong Shelton resident. She established a career of volunteering at St. Margaret Mary Church and Bishop Wicke Health Center in Shelton, as well as various other local organizations.
She is survived by her children, William P. Gaynor Jr., David M. Gaynor (Christina) and Mary Jane Carrozzella (Christopher); her grandchildren, John Carrozzella, Natalie and Lucas Gaynor, and Laura and Leah Gaynor; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers, John and William McGrath.
Friends may greet the family Friday, April 1, from 9-10:30 a.m. at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton. Her procession will then leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church in Shelton. Burial will follow at Mount St. Peter’s Cemetery in Derby.
