Ansonia Man Critically Injured In Bike Accident In Shelton

Shelton police officers and EMS responded at 7:45 a.m. on a report of an accident involving a bicycle, according to Shelton Police. 

On Wednesday at approximately 7:45 a.m., Shelton Police and EMS were sent to the area of 504 Bridgeport Ave. for a bicycle accident, according to Shelton Police.

UPDATED: SHELTON, Conn. -- A man was critically injured and sent to the hospital after a bike accident at 504 Bridgeport Ave. on Wednesday morning, Shelton police and the Connecticut Post said. 

A 55-year-old Ansonia man was critically injured when the bicycle he was riding was involved in an accident, the Post said. There was no indication that the bicyclist was hit by a vehicle, the story said.

The traffic division was investigating at the scene, according to Shelton Police, and the road was shut down at times.
