Richard Evans, 37, of Bridgeport was arrested on Thursday and charged with murder, criminal possession of a firearm and carrying a pistol without a permit. The arrest stems from the July 2 shooting death of 44-year-old Reginald May outside May's home on Alice Street.

Evans and May both worked for a moving company and were down in Virginia in June as part of a job, according to the Connecticut Post. While they were there, they got in a fight over money, and May punched Evans in the face, the Connecticut Post reported. At that point, Evans made a comment that witnesses believed meant he was going to retaliate, police told the Connecticut Post.

Police said that Evans lured May out of his home by setting of a car alarm. When May went out to investigate, Evans opened fire at him from a neighboring yard, according to police.
