Bullet Found At Derby High School; No Threat To Students

DERBY, Conn. -- A bullet was found in the library of Derby High School on Wednesday, prompting officials to lockdown the school as a precaution, according to the Valley Independent Sentinel.

Police stressed that there was no active threat to the school or public, and the lockdown was placed as a precaution, according to the Sentinel. A student found the .22 caliber bullet in the library and brought it to the attention of a staff member, the Valley Independent Sentinel reported. 

There will be an increased police presence at the school during dismissal, officials told the Valley Independent Sentinel.
