Nicholas Reppenhagen, 38, of 1019 Roosevelt Drive, Derby, was arrested Saturday and held for arraignment Monday.
Someone tried to pry open a pair of back doors to a Mr. Sports store at 235 Main St. and Aromas, a Peruvian restaurant next door, overnight Oct. 29-30, Norwalk police Sgt. Sofia Gulino said.
Two doorknobs were broken off and Detective Tom Podgorski found them on the ground in a nearby cemetery, she said.
Police reviewed evidence from the scene as well as a surveillance video, Gulino said. They cracked the case after earlier this month arresting Anthony Jones, who is also accused of the Main Street burglaries.
Reppenhagen is charged with two counts each of third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief and second-degree conspiracy to commit criminal mischief.
His bond was originally set at $40,000 but that was reduced to a promise to appear in court.
In 2009, Reppenhagen was given a suspended one-year jail sentence on a marijuana charge and two years of probation, according to the state's judicial website.
