Fairfield Cops: Thief Leaves Clue After Breaking Into Car -- A Cell Phone

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Tollhouse Road woman lost an E-ZPass but gained a cell phone that whoever broke into her car left behind Saturday, police said.

The woman called police around 1 p.m. to report she found the unfamiliar black Samsung cell phone in her car, which had been parked unlocked outside her home. Her E-ZPass was nowhere to be found.

Police are investigating the phone for clues to its ownership.
