Fredrick Kushpinsky of Shelton was arrested Monday by Shelton Police on three outstanding warrants for failure to appear and a warrant with eight counts of violating a protective order, said Det. Christopher Nugent.

According to Nugent, the department was contacted in June with information that Kushpinksy was attempting to make contact with a victim from a previous domestic violence arrest.

During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that Kushpinsky was sending mail while incarcerated on domestic-related charges from Bridgeport Correctional Facility attempting to make contact with the victim, he added.

"Shelton Police were contacted and informed that Kushpinksy would be arriving from out of town in Waterbury by Greyhound bus on July 9," Nugent said.

Shelton Police, along with the assistance of Waterbury Police, headed to the bus terminal and were able to locate Kushpinsky as he arrived and take him into custody without incident.

Kushpinsky is being held on $225,000 bond for the three failure to appear warrants and $75,000 for the Shelton Investigation.

He is scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court on Tuesday.
