Nicholas Reich, 26, of Lawrence Road, was charged with evading responsibility, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence and failure to drive in the proper lane, police said.
The incident began around 2:30 a.m., April 9 when Reich sped down Rogers Road, hit a car in a driveway and spun 180 degrees hitting a second car in another driveway with the rear of his car, police said.
The rear window of Reich’s black 1997 Audi A4 shattered and a paycheck listing his name fluttered out of the window and was found on the scene, police said.
Fairfield officers put out an alert to area police departments to be on the lookout for Reich, police said.
Not long afterwards, Bridgeport police told Fairfield police Reich had crashed on Frenchtown Road in Bridgeport.
He was taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center and was listed in critical condition. His blood alcohol level was .21, more than twice the legal limit, police said.
Reich posted $100 bond Friday and is scheduled to appear in court July 11.
