Arrested were: Ronaldo Beckett, Christopher Campbell, David Elliston, Akeem Mitchell and Overton Rowe, all of Bridgeport, police said.

Officers were called to a home on Bunnell Street in Bridgeport, where victims said four or five males came into the rear yard waving guns and demanding money, police said.

The victims were searched at gunpoint and the robbers took money, cellphones and a 2005 Honda Civic, Bridgeport police said.

Officers conducted a "ping" on one of the phones, and it came back to Milford, police said.

Milford officers found and detained two suspects, police said. Officers learned that one of the men had rented a room at Motel 6, and officers detained three more suspects there, police said.

A search of the room turned up three firearms, narcotics, wallets and cellphones belonging to the robbery victims, car keys and several ski masks, police said.

Beckett confessed to being in possession of a Colt firearm and Rowe confessed to possession a Ruger .38 and a Berretta, which were seized in the motel room, police said.

A search of the Park Avenue residence where the men said they lived in Bridgeport turned up several shell casings for the firearms at the motel, several cellphones, passports belonging to the men and clothing matching the description related to several robberies in the area, police said.

The robbery squad is working to tie the men to several robberies over the last several weeks. It is also believed they are responsible for the recent robbery on Laurel Avenue, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
