MONROE, Conn. -- A man who had apparently overdosed at an auto parts store in Monroe was revived with an anti-opioid drug administered by local police, according to a report by The Connecticut Post .

Police came to the rescue when the unidentified 29-year-old Shelton man collapsed at A&G Auto on Main Street around noon Friday, The Connecticut Post report said.

Police -- who started carrying naloxone, or Narcan, just this year -- used the life-saving medication to bring the victim around before emergency crews took him to a local hospital, The Connecticut Post story said.
