Stephen Wright, 62, was arrested four times on DUI charges between Feb. 10 and April 10, according to the Connecticut Post. He was then arrested again on April 20 after he had failed to show up for one of his court appearances, the Connecticut Post reported.

Wright appeared in court on Monday, where he faced charges related to an arrest in Stratford, the Connecticut Post reported. He was sentenced to 18 months, which will suspended after he serves 120 days, and must also pay a $1,000 fine, according to the Connecticut Post.
He still faces charges related to arrests in Norwalk, Derby and Shelton, according to the Connecticut Post.
Wright was appointed to the state Board of Education in 2011 by Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and reappointed in 2015. A spokesperson for Malloy told the Connecticut Post that no decision has been made regarding Wright's future on the board, but that the board expects to have a conversation with him once his legal matters begin to be resolved.
