Trooper First Class Matthew Losh, 33, was on duty at the time. He was traveling in the left lane on the northbound side of the five-land highway when he lost control of his cruiser due to wet conditions from the rain and veered onto the median, according to a statement from state police spokeswoman Trooper Kelly Grant.
Losh’s 2013 Ford Interceptor vehicle hit the metal guardrail and rolled over several times before settling on its roof. The cruiser was partially in the shoulder and partially in the left lane. Losh was wearing a seatbelt at the time.
He was taken to St. Vincent Medical Center for treatment of minor cuts to his right hand suffered in the accident, Grant said. He was released from the hospital a short time later.
