Stratford Police Identify 64-Year-Old Woman Hit, Killed By Car Behind Store

STRATFORD, Conn. — The 64-year-old woman hit and killed by a car Tuesday morning in Stratford has been identified as Carmen Flores-Carrillo, police said Thursday.

Flores-Carrillo was struck by the car while crossing Longbrook Avenue near Paterson Avenue in a busy retail part of Stratford, police Capt. Frank Eannotti said.

Flores-Carrillo was born in Peru. She is survived by her parents Leonides Carrillo and Esperanza Dominga Flores; her son Hernan Santiago Carrillo; her daughter Ameena Nazar (Kashif); her siblings Manuel, Carlos, and Marta; and many other relatives and friends. 

Calling hours will be Friday, Jan. 27, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, (Peaceful Light Funeral Home), 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport. A service will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Park Cemetery, 620 Lindley St., Bridgeport. For more funeral information, click here.

"The incident is still under investigation," Eannotti said Thursday.

Flores-Carrillo was taken to Bridgeport Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The fatal accident occurred on the road behind the Burlington Coat Factory, a busy cut-through street in the area near a number of stores and a residential neighborhood. 

No charges have been filed in the incident, which occurred at about 6:30 a.m. on a rainy day.
