SHELTON, Conn. -- Mark Lauretti was sworn in on Monday to begin his 13th term as the city's mayor, according to sheltonherald.com.
Lauretti, who spoke at the Senior Center on Monday after all other city officials had been sworn in, said public service was a "noble calling," according to the report.
Lauretti, a Republican who is now entering his 25th year in the office, thanked his wife and family and noted how integral everyone in the room has been in the city's success over the years, according to the report.
According to sheltonherald.com, Lauretti then promised those on hand that he would continue working hard for the city, which he said is an "employment center."
