Safewise, a community-focused security organization, recently ranked Fairfield one of the 30 safest college towns in America.

Using the FBI’s most recent crime statistics, Safewise analysts placed Fairfield 24th, just after Mount Pleasant, Michigan, and before Orono, Maine.

The organization noted the town’s “high quality of life, abundant outdoor recreation and a stellar safety record.”

In 2015, Fairfield — home to both Fairfield and Sacred Heart universities — logged 21 violent crimes and 945 property crimes, according to the report.

“Parents sending their students off to Fairfield or Sacred Heart universities can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the community has relatively low crime rates,” the report states.

The top 10 safest college towns on the list were: Durham, N.H.; Charleston, Ill.; Rexburg, Idaho; Amherst, Mass.; Princeton, N.J.; Bristol, R.I.; Highland Heights, Ky.; Pullman, Wash.; Slippery Rock, Penn.; and Hanover, N.H.
