The events aim to support the SEEF’s continuous sponsorship of innovative teaching and learning through grants and scholarships for Shelton public school students, organizers said.

The 5K Run/Walk is to kick off at 9 a.m. on April 30 while a Student Fun Run will begin at 10 a.m., organizers said, adding that both runs will start and end at Shelton High School’s Finn Stadium.

Entrance to the Run/Walk – which includes a t-shirt – costs $25 for adults until April 28. After that, the cost increases to $30, organizers said, adding that the student rate is $10. Students are also urged to pre-register before April 28.

The Endowment Fund has scheduled the Community Wiffle Ball Tournament for immediately after the Run/Walk to raise additional money for its learning initiatives.

Entrance into the tournament costs $100 per team. According to organizers, teams must have between 10-12 people.
