SHELTON, Conn. -- Fifteen exchange students from various parts of Korea have been studying at St. Lawrence Christian School in Shelton for the past month as part of JY Education, an international study-aboard program based in Connecticut, according to the Shelton Herald.
The students, ranging from third to eighth grade, have been exposed to a new education system, and are also getting the chance to experience what it’s like to live in a home in the United States by staying with hosts families in Shelton, said the Shelton Herald.
St. Lawrence teachers prepared their students for the visitors by using Google Earth maps as well as books. Most also used a translation app on their phones when communication was an issue. The Korean students spent their days following St. Lawrence student through their regular day, added the Shelton Herald.
