East Washington Ave Bridge In Bridgeport Closing Tuesday For Repairs

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – The Eat Washington Avenue Bridge over Bridgeport Harbor will temporarily close on Tuesday, Oct. 24 for repairs.

Bridgeport officials are advising residents of the closure, which will last for approximately four hours on Tuesday beginning at 10 a.m. Repairs will be conducted to fix mechanical and electrical issues caused by storm and salt water damage, according to city officials.

A detour route had been set up to offset the closure. The traffic will be routed to River Street from Knowlton Street heading west, and North Washington Avenue to River Street from Housatonic Avenue heading east.
