The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday for northern Fairfield County.

Northwest winds of 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 45 to 50 mph will whip through the area Friday — which is strong enough to blow down limbs, trees, and power lines, the weather service warned. Scattered power outages are possible.

And it will be cold. The temperatures tonight will drop to the low to mid-30s. A light wind will begin to pick up with gust as high as 24 mph.

It won't get any warmer during the day on Friday but it will be sunny. The temperature will be about 32 degrees at 9 a.m., with wind chill values of 20 and 25 degrees.

It will also be breezy, with northwest winds 17 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 50 mph.

By Friday night it will be clear and temperatures will drop into the teens across Fairfield County. The wind chill values are even colder — between zero and 10 degrees.

Saturday, which is Veterans Day will be sunny, with a high near 39 degrees and wind chill values of 5 and 15.

Saturday night will be partly cloudy, with a low of about 15 overnight.

Sunday will be partly sunny and a bit warmer — with a high near 45 degrees.
