FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — The dangerous deep freeze is not over for Fairfield County.

A Wind Chill Advisory has been extended until 8 a.m. Sunday for Fairfield County as well as most of Connecticut and the tri-state area.

The very cold wind chills of 10 below zero to 20 below zero can cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin.

The high on Saturday will near 11 degrees — under sunny skies. But it will be blustery, with a northwest wind of 16 to 20 mph and gusts as high as 30 mph.

It's so cold that the popular Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport is closed due to the weather conditions.

Then the temperature will plummet Sunday night, with a low of about -3. Northwest winds of 6 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph, will make it feel well below zero.

Sunday will be sunny and cold, with a high near 19 and wind chills between -5 and -15.

And by Monday — snow is back in the forecast. There is a 40 percent chance of snow after 10 a.m. under cloudy skies, with a high near 31.
