"Cindy will continue to move northward into Thursday evening before a curve to the Northeast occurs on Thursday night and Friday," AccuWeather.com Hurricane Expert Dan Kottlowski said.
Cindy made landfall as a tropical storm near the Texas-Louisiana border early Thursday. It is expected to weaken as it moves north toward Tennessee and Kentucky by Friday night.
Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are possible today into the evening, and could produce damaging wind gusts and hail, according to the National Weather Service. The high will be near 81.
Showers and thunderstorms will work through the region late Friday into Saturday morning. There is a threat of flash flooding as well, according to the National Weather Service.
Showers continue to be likely on Saturday, with the possibility of a thunderstorm and heavy rain. It is expected to gradually become sunny, with a high near 88. The chance of precipitation is 70 percent, and new rainfall amounts will be between a half and three-quarters of an inch. Saturday night will be mostly clear, with a low around 62.
On Sunday there is a 20 percent chance of showers after 2 p.m., but otherwise the day will be mostly sunny, with a high near 81.
The week is expected to start off nice on Monday, which will be mostly sunny with a high near 77.
