Two Teens Charged In Broad Daylight Attack Of Man, 60, At Park In Trumbull

The teenagers have been arrested in connection with the broad-daylight assault of a 60-year-old man at a park in the area late last month.

The victim, a 60-year-old, was attacked by three assailants as he was walking through Twin Brooks Park in Trumbull on Nov. 24.

The victim reported that as he was walking along the sidewalk on Twin Brooks Drive toward the wooded area of the park at about 2 p.m. that Saturday afternoon, when an older, gray-colored car with a large rear spoiler drove past him. 

A short time later, the vehicle drove back towards him and stopped. A Hispanic male, about 18 to 22 years old, got out of the car and approached the victim, Trumbull Police said.

Without saying a word, the male punched the victim in the head, knocking him to the ground, according to police.

Two other young males exited the vehicle and began kicking the victim as he lay on the ground, all the while demanding money. 

The victim told them he did not have money with him and they pushed him into the road before they drove off towards Franklin Street.

The victim was able to get a partial license plate for the car as it drove off. Police have not disclosed the partial plate at this time.

On Friday, Dec. 7, Trumbull Police arrested 19-year-old Holger Jarrin of Elbertson Street in Elmhurst on robbery and assault charges.

Jarrin is the second of three assailants to be charged in this incident. He turned himself in to Trumbull Police after he learned that there was a warrant for his arrest.

The first teen charged, 18-year-old Cristofer Fuentes-Salguero of Rose Street in Bridgeport, also turned himself in at the Trumbull Police Department after he learned that there was a warrant for his arrest.

Jarrin and Fuentes-Salguero were each charged with second-degree criminal attempt to commit robbery, second-degree criminal attempt to commit larceny and second-degree assault of an elderly person.

Fuentes-Salguero turned himself in at the Trumbull Police Department after he learned that there was a warrant for his arrest.

Jamin and Fuentes-Salguero were each held on $150,000 bond. Fuentes-Salguero is due in court on Dec. 10. Jamin is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 17. J
