Woman Killed In I-95 Crash In Connecticut

A 48-year-old woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash on I-95 that blocked the roadway for hours.

The crash took place around 7:39 p.m. Sunday in the area of Exit 64 in Westbrook when the driver of a 1978 Jeep traveling south, swerved hard to the left causing the vehicle to roll over and strike the median, said Connecticut State Police.

The driver, 48-year-old Kyle Francis Ford of Clinton was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, state police said.

His passenger, Angela Ford, also of Clinton, was killed in the crash, they added.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
