Shelton Republicans Heading To Polls Tuesday For 113th House District Race

SHELTON, Conn. — Some Republican voters in Shelton will head to the polls Tuesday to pick a candidate for the fall election for the 113th House District.

The Republicans endorsed Jason Perillo, the incumbent, but he is being challenged by fellow Democrat Ruth Parkins in the primary.

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9.

The 113th House District covers part of the northern part of Shelton along the Housatonic River. The district’s primary is one of 10 Democratic and two Republican primaries happening for statewide office.

Secretary of the State Denise W. Merrill reminds voters to bring acceptable forms of identification to the polls. A driver’s license will suffice in all cases but if a voter does not have a government issued photo ID then a bank statement, utility bill, pay stub or other forms of identification are also acceptable. Members of the public should use the state’s 866-SEEC-INFO hotline or email if they encounter any problems at the polls. The hotline and email address will be monitored throughout the day by the State Elections Enforcement Commission and the Secretary of the State’s office.
