FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- A flood watch is in effect for Fairfield County through Saturday morning, as rain and possibly some thunderstorms could hit this weekend.

Friday will be unseasonably warm, with temperatures reaching a high of 58, according to the National Weather Service. There will be no chance to enjoy it, though, because there area will be inundated with rain all day. It could be heavy at times, and 2 or 3 inches could be possible through Saturday. There will be areas of fog as well.

Friday night will also see rain and fog, and possibly a thunderstorm. Temperatures will drop to a low of 37. The chance of precipitation is 100 percent.

There could be sudden rises in rivers and streams in the vicinity of these jams.

Rain could possibly mix with sleet Saturday morning after 9 a.m. before gradually ending by noon. The rest of the day will be mostly cloudy, with temperatures falling to around 27 by 5 p.m. Wind chill values will be between 15 and 25. Saturday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 8 and wind chill values between negative 5 and 5.

Sunday will be sunny, with a high near 23. Sunday night will be partly cloudy with a low around 8.

It will be partly sunny during the day on Monday, when the high will be near 25. But there is a 30 percent chance of snow after midnight, with a low around 19.

That possibility of snow will continue into the following days. There is a 50 percent chance of snow on Tuesday, and a 30 percent chance of snow on Wednesday.
